OSU ASSET Program | Posted 08/17/2010

Aging Systems Sustainment and Enabling Technologies (ASSET) has opened an office in the Aerospace Collaboration and Partnership Center (ACPC) at Tinker Business & Industrial Park in Midwest City.

ASSET is an innovative partnership of Government, Industry, and Academia which provides support toward the effort of assuring readiness and sustainability of military weapon systems.

The ASSET program, consisting of an ever-growing network of member companies, expands the supply base available to DoD procurement processes, and funds development of Engineering solutions for certain "problem" parts. These efforts enhance the effectiveness of the Government competitive bidding process, while providing significant economic opportunity to member companies, according to Tom Gray, ASSET Program Manager.

“ASSET is a tremendous example of how the public, private and academic sectors can partner to create meaningful job opportunities for Oklahoma aerospace manufacturers – many of whom are also small businesses – literally the backbone of our state’s economy,” Warren Thomas, TBIP Managing General Partner, explained.

A part of Oklahoma State University's Center for Innovation and Economic Development - Enterprise Center, LLC, the ASSET program is funded by directed appropriations through the Department of Defense (DoD). ASSET is sponsored by the Logistics Research and Development Program at the Headquarters of the Defense Logistics Agency, Ft. Belvoir, VA.
